think outside the box

Preventing food waste is the single most effective solution to reduce global warming.

What is Upcycling?

Upcycling is a sustainable second chance for food loss, dedicated to using ingredients to their fullest nutritional potential, limiting waste and reducing climate change. We're partnering with farmers and processors to identify and repurpose underutilized side streams to reach their full nutritional potential, like our oat and sunflower protein.

Upcycled Oaty

Oaty started out as a whole oat. Once the tossed leftovers from oat milk production, he's got a new life in our Oat Protein Cereal and Protein Oats. With 3x the protein and 2x the fiber of regular oats, I guess you could say he's back and stronger than ever!

Upcycled Sunny

All hail the giant sunflower, good for the soil and pollinators (and the sunflower seeds). Sunny comes from the seedy leftovers of cold-pressed sunflower oil. Full of protein and fiber, she's upcycled into a delicious flour. She's mighty, but don't call her seedy.
